Pediatric Occupational Therapist and Developmental Specialist

I understand how frustrating it is as a parent to find the support your child needs.  I thrive on finding the best path forward for each family and helping every child reach their full potential.

With 20+yrs of experience working with children ages 0-14 in a variety of settings from Children's hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, and early intervention, I draw from a wide range of therapeutic approaches to determine what is going on for your child and how best to guide you to support them in their growth and development.

I received my degree in Early Childhood Education and went on to get a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2002. I have immersed myself in the pediatric world ever since.

I am also the mother of two girls who continue to teach me everyday. Being a parent has truly changed the way I am as a therapist. It has increased my empathy exponentially.

What Makes My Approach Unique

Picture of child listening to music on headphones.

Early in my career I thought I worked on individual skills like fine motor, visual motor etc. After many years of experience I have a different lens and now I understand:

  • Everything is interconnected and builds on itself.

  • Integrating sensory-based supports help children feel more grounded and connected.

  • Working with, not against, each child’s nervous system — helps them feel safe, seen, and successful.

In our tech filled world it feels like we ask too much of everyone's nervous system and executive functioning skills are not sufficient to keep track of it all. We all want our children to be resilient socially emotionally, and that requires the ability to integrate our senses inside and out.  I understand:

  • Human connection is a biological imperative

  • Social emotional learning can be fun and helps children feel more successful in their relationships

  • Strengthening executive functioning skills help children build confidence as the demands of life increase

  • Having interoception, the ability to detect what is happening inside our bodies, is necessary for emotional awareness

I empower caregivers with strategies that align with their child’s nervous system, prioritizing connection and co-regulation over compliance, and help families build regulation and resilience through safe, attuned relationships.

Advanced Certifications and Trainings

Listening Therapies

I am a certified provider of the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP), and Therapeutic Listening (TL). These are non-invasive auditory interventions designed to support the nervous system regulation through specially filtered music, promoting emotional regulation, social engagement, and sensory integration.. SSP and RRP were developed by Dr. Stephen Porges based on his Polyvagal Theory and TL was developed by Sheila Frick with Vital Links.

Parent Coaching

I have nearly completed the year long training and earned the licensing rights to teach Raising Kids with Big, Baffling Behaviors.

This parenting approach:

  • turns the latest brain science into easy-to-understand principles & metaphors to help you to become an expert in your child’s behavior.

  • shows how all behavior, no matter how baffling, can be explained and remedied.

  • reveals ways to help you regulate and connect with your child, with brain-, body- and sensory-based strategies to overcome day-to-day challenges.

  • help you understand and regulate your own brain so that you don’t flip your lid when your child flips theirs.
